yeejae kim (former: claudia yeejae kim) is an interdisciplinary artist working across sculpture, kinetic installation, and performance. Her practice investigates material systems shaped through repetition, duration, and maintenance, often drawing from domestic tools, fermentation, and heat-based processes. She constructs modular environments that operate over time, incorporating circulating liquids and simple mechanical systems that require ongoing tending. By translating acts of care into material and kinetic forms, she foregrounds waiting, warming, and monitoring as active conditions. Her work examines how care is structured and sustained, revealing the fragility of systems that depend on continuous attention and upkeep. She received her MFA from Columbia University, a Post-Baccalaureate in Studio Art from Brandeis University, and a BA in Studio Art and Psychology from the University of California, Davis. She has been supported by Grant,  fellowships and residencies including the  Queens Art Fund, Vermont Studio Center and Shandaken: Storm King. She is currently based in Long Island City, NY.
